To ensure a good quality print please consider the following:
- Make sure the file type is JPG/JPEG
- Pay close attention to the file size of the image. The bigger, the better!
- DPI also plays a crucial role in the sharpness of the image. For printing, a DPI of 300 is required.
In Windows, you can check this by right-clicking the image, and view properties.
In Mac OS, you open it in Preview – click Tools – Show Inspector.
The fabric we use is 420g of 100% cotton duck. A nice thick canvas and very durable. The special layers of Gesso we apply are used to stiffen the canvas and give the artist a smooth surface to work on. The paint is able to bind to the canvas fibres. We apply three layers, slightly sanded down.
We use Dry Par Pine carefully handpicked to provide only the best quality possible for our customers. Our frames standard is 22 x 44mm thickness (tapered). We can also do the frames in 32mm or 69mm on request.
Cape Canvasses is an Arts & Crafts store established by the local artist, Melanie Smit, who specializes in canvasses for artists.
